Pulaski County Library System Reading Challenges

The PCLS offers multiple reading challenges throughout the year for all ages. Please sign up for an account through Beanstack and take part in our future challenges.

By participating, you have the ability to win new books and various prizes from local organizations and businesses. Join in the excitement and join many others in the community for some fun at your library.

Pulaski County Library System Reading Challenges

Ages 0-9

Keep track of how many days the participating child reads or someone reads to them. To complete the challenge, log 30 days in Beanstack. Note: the 30 days do not have to be in a row. Upon completion, the participant will earn a goodie bag and another free book!

Ages 10-17

Keep track of how many books the participant reads. For every book logged in Beanstack, the participant will earn a chance to enter the prize drawing of their choice. Maximum 6 entries. Also, log at least 2 books to receive another free book.

Adults - 16+

Ages 16 and up have the option to participate in our adult programs. Participants can join in various activities throughout the year alternating between book based challenges and bingo card based challenges. There are plenty of chances to get registration prizes, pick out great books to keep, and win amazing prizes through raffles sponsored by local businesses and organizations. Our adult challenges are super simple and a great way to get rewarded for staying caught up on your reading and activities throughout the year!

Why should I participate in a Reading Challenge?

Encouraging children and teens to read for fun helps to keep their brains active during the months when school is not in session. For adults, any time is a great time to set a reading goal and explore new books and authors.

Do I need a library card to participate?

No! You do not need a card to participate in any of our challenges or to attend any of our great events. You will, however, need a card in order to check out materials in person or use many of the online services.

Who can participate in a Reading Challenge?

Everyone can participate in Reading Challenges. We have options for all ages and you can select the age group that is most appropriate for you when you first create an account on Beanstack.

How do I sign up for a Reading Challenge through the Pulaski County Library System?

You can sign up for our Reading Challenges by visiting https://pclibs.beanstack.org .

I signed up on Beanstack last year, can I use the same account?

Yes! Your Beanstack account is still active and you can sign up for the new challenge by logging into your account. If you have forgotten your password, call the library and we can help you retrieve it.

Can I add multiple readers to my Beanstack account?

Yes! You can add multiple readers to your Beanstack account. If you are signing up for the first time, Beanstack will ask if you would like to add another reader. If you already have an account and would like to add a reader, under the Settings tab click on Add a Reader.

Is there an app for Beanstack?

Yes! There is an app for IOS and Android. The app provides an easy way to keep track of your progress during our challenges.

How do I get my prizes?

Visit either branch of the Pulaski County Library System to pick up your prizes.

Do audiobooks count?

Absolutely!
